About us

Carolina
I was born in 1983 and has lived with dogs my entire life. We have mostly had Golden Retrievers but also one Afghan Hound. I decided early that I would have a Golden but this all changed completely in 2004 when I met some Salukis for the first time. It was truly love at first sight. I got my first Saluki, Shaamroc Silver Shadow, Muscot, the same year, and 1,5 years later I got my second male, Shirin Roya Zaxire, Timjan. We had our first litter in the end of 2009 from which I kept one female, Zandirah's Within Temptation, Lilja and I co-own her sister, Zandirah's Woman In Black, Mandy, with my mother. I live with my boyfriend in a house just outside a small town called Norberg which is situated around 170 km northwest from Stockholm. I spend most of my freetime with my dogs, family and my big interest in Salukis. I like to go on long walks, books, music, movies, webdesign and interior design. Since the fall of 2010 I am studying to be a social studies teacher in highschool and adult education.

Benita
I was born in 1962 and got my first dog in 1982, a Golden Retriever named Bobby (Goldstring Enchanter). He was a very special dog. After him I've had two more Goldens, Wilma (Graceline's Countess Cathleen) who passed away a few years ago, and Zally (Candlelight's Zo Zweet And Zuperzip) who is now nine years old. I have also had an Afghan Hound called Wiktor (Sayyad's Zabotage). I fell in love with Saluki as a breed on a dogshow in 2004, just like Carolina described, it was a very special moment. I got my first Saluki in 2005 when we imported Al Khabara Darrah, Darrah, from Estonia. One year later I got my second bitch, Badavie Irresistible Girl, Jessie and as earlier mentioned I co-own Mandy, Zandirah's Woman In Black with Carolina. I have a big interest for the breed to but leave the showing to my daughters. I have four children, Carolina 27, Emma 25, Frida 20 and William 10. I live in Fagersta, just 10 km from Carolina with my son. At the moment I am less active within the kennel.

About our breeding
Our dogs are first and foremost beloved familymembers and we see ourselves as dogowners in first place and breeders secondly, which for example means that we would never replace a dog who doesn't succeed in shows etc or is fit for breeding. We like to show our dogs and occassionally go to lurecoursing/trackracing trainings and trials. We feel that breeding ourselves is a very natural develpment of our big interest in Salukis. Our goal is to breed elegant yet moderate Salukis with stable and typical temperament in a very small scale due to several reasons, one is that the Saluki is not a breed that fits all, another is to really be able to evaluate a litter before continuing, and finally because we want to be able to keep at least one puppy from each litter and still keep our number of dogs quite low. We will only do combinations that we really believe in ourselves and only if we aim to keep at least one puppy. We recently had our very first litter and they are still to young to fully evaluate but so far we are very pleased with them, their temperaments are great and several has done quite well in the showring. Some of them need more time to fully mature and we are following the development of the whole litter with excitment. If everything goes as planned we will have our next litter out of one of our two youngest girls
in a few years.

You are always welcome to contact us if you are interested in our dogs or in the breed and you are most welcome to visit us.
